Chapter 19 - The Harvest Celebration

The annual Valley Harvest Festival had grown into the largest celebration in the province, drawing visitors, buyers, and agricultural experts from across the nation.

I walked through the sunlit gardens wearing a simple, elegant ivory dress, accompanied by Julian and my father. Everywhere we went, children laughed, farmers nodded in respectful greeting, and the air was filled with the rich, earthy scent of roasting corn and sweet fruit.
"You know, Elena," Julian said softly, stopping beside the old stone fountain that had once reflected Bernarda's cruel smiles, "looking at what you've built here... it's hard to believe anyone ever doubted your strength."
"They didn't doubt my strength, Julian," I replied, dipping my hand into the cool, clear water of the fountain. "They just mistook my kindness for weakness. Big mistake."

My father laughed heartily, clapping Julian on the back. "The greatest mistake anyone in this province ever made!"
As the sun began to set, casting a magnificent golden glow across the valley and the rolling hills of crops, I looked around at the life I had fought so hard to reclaim.
