Chapter 29 - THE DAWN OF RECKONING

The sun rose over the city skyline, casting a warm, golden glow across the towering glass and steel architecture that had once felt like an insurmountable fortress of corruption.

Daniel stood on the observation deck of a public park overlooking the federal courthouse downtown. Around him, the city was waking up to a media storm of unprecedented proportions. Every major television network, online news portal, and social media platform was broadcasting breaking updates: leaked financial records, classified audio logs, and detailed investigative reports exposing *The Foundation* and its decades-long network of institutional abuse and political cover-ups.

Live feeds showed federal marshals storming corporate headquarters, arresting high-ranking executives, and seizing encrypted servers that could no longer hide behind legal loopholes or intimidation tactics.

For the first time in twenty-four years, the ghosts of the past were being dragged out into the blazing light of day.

As Daniel watched the unfolding justice from afar, his phone buzzed in his pocket. He pulled it out and saw an unknown caller ID, but the number was local—not a blocked corporate line or a robotic threat.

With a steady hand, he pressed accept and brought the phone to his ear.

"Hello, Daniel?" a soft, familiar, trembling voice spoke on the other end. It was his younger sister, Sophia, whom he hadn't spoken to or seen since the day their family was torn apart.

"Sophia?" Daniel breathed, his voice cracking with emotion as tears welled up in his eyes.

"I saw the news," she whispered, choking back sobs of relief. "Is it... is it really over? Can we finally go home?"
