Chapter 28 - THE FINAL FALL OF THE TYRANT

"Do it, then," a cold, lethal voice echoed from the shadows behind Thomas.
Thomas spun around in sheer panic, his pistol wavering between Lydia on the ground and Grant stepping out from the stairwell behind the catwalk.
"Grant!" Thomas snarled, his finger tightening convulsively on the trigger. "Step back or your sister dies right here!"
"Evelyn made her bed," Grant said coldly, his voice devoid of any familial warmth. "And so did you."
Before Thomas could pull the trigger, a brilliant red laser dot danced across his chest. High above on the rafters, the lead sniper’s voice crackled through the encrypted comms: *Target in sight. Clear to neutralize.*
"Wait!" Evelyn shrieked, suddenly finding a desperate burst of adrenaline. She stomped down hard with her stiletto heel onto Thomas’s instep and violently jerked her head away from the barrel.
"You little bitch!" Thomas roared, swinging the butt of the pistol toward Evelyn’s face.
That single moment of distraction was all it took.
With a deafening crack, a high-velocity non-lethal tactical round struck Thomas squarely in the wrist, shattering his bones and sending the pistol spinning out of his hand and over the edge of the metal catwalk, crashing onto the concrete floor below.
Before Thomas could scream, Grant vaulted up the metal stairs with terrifying speed, crossed the catwalk in three long strides, and tackled Thomas directly into a stack of empty wooden crates. The sound of splintering wood echoed through the warehouse as Grant rained a series of brutal, calculated punches down onto Thomas’s face until the disgraced titan went completely limp.
Agent Miller and his team swarmed the catwalk seconds later, slapping heavy steel cuffs onto Thomas’s wrists as he groaned in the dirt.
Evelyn collapsed against the metal railing, weeping uncontrollably, completely abandoned by everyone she had ever manipulated.

Grant stood up slowly, wiping a smear of blood from his knuckles. He looked across the catwalk, his eyes locking onto Lydia standing below in the center of the warehouse. The storm had finally broken.
