Chapter 15 - A New Horizon

Stepping out of the courthouse doors, the blinding Miami sunlight hit me like a warm embrace. A wall of reporters surged forward, thrusting microphones and cameras in my direction, shouting questions about the settlement, the downfall of Vance Logistics, and my plans for the future.

I didn't rush. I didn't hide my face. I paused on the top step of the courthouse, standing tall, radiating absolute confidence and unshakeable grace.

"Mrs. Vance! Are you planning to acquire any more failing competitor firms?" one reporter shouted.

I looked directly into the camera lens, offering a serene, untouchable smile. "Aura Global Enterprises is always looking toward sustainable growth and meaningful partnerships. But today, my only plan is to enjoy the view."

I turned away from the media circus and walked down the steps where Marcus was waiting by the door of a sleek black sedan, holding the door open for me with a warm, respectful smile.

As I slid into the leather interior, Marcus climbed in beside me, closing the door against the hum of the city outside. He looked at me, his eyes crinkling at the corners with genuine warmth and admiration.

"Well, Mr. CEO," Marcus said softly, handing me a chilled glass of sparkling cider. "How does it feel to officially own the skyline?"

I took the glass, clinked it against his, and looked out the window as the car pulled away from the courthouse, gliding smoothly down the palm-lined streets toward the sparkling bay. The ghosts of the past were completely gone, swept away by the wind, leaving behind an open, brilliant horizon.

"It feels like freedom," I replied, smiling into the future. "And we are only just getting started."
