Chapter 19 - The Homecoming

Three days later, the private Gulfstream touched down on the private tarmac of the Moretti estate as the afternoon sun cast long, golden shadows across the sprawling lawns.
Salvatore descended the aircraft steps, feeling an immense, profound weight lift from his shoulders for the first time in weeks. The threat from Geneva had been neutralized; Viktor Sterling was currently sitting in a high-security detention facility awaiting extradition, his entire financial network systematically dismantled by Moretti’s relentless legal juggernaut.
As Salvatore walked through the heavy front doors of the grand foyer, the sound of sweet, uninhibited laughter echoed down the corridor.
Ruby came running out of the playroom, her golden curls bouncing with every step, her legs moving with absolute, effortless grace. She didn't limp, she didn't stumble—she ran straight into Salvatore’s arms as he dropped down to one knee to catch her.
"Daddy! You’re back!" Ruby squealed happily, wrapping her small arms tightly around his neck and pressing her cheek against his.
Salvatore hugged her fiercely, burying his face in her hair, breathing in the scent of strawberry shampoo and childhood innocence. "I’m home, sweetheart. I’m right here, and I’m never leaving."
Standing by the doorway of the drawing-room, Marcus Vance watched the heartwarming scene with a rare, approving smile on his face. "The Swiss authorities confirmed the final asset seizures this morning, Salvatore. The Vanguard Trust is officially dissolved. No one will ever threaten this family again."
